Why Can’t Planned Parenthood Defend It’s Practices Rather Than Attack the Videos?

Taken directly from Planned Parenthood’s website:

“The latest tape has at least 20 substantial and unexplained edits. Previous tapes released by this extremist group were heavily edited in order to distort what the people on the tapes actually said. These videos are intended to shock and deceive the public. For example, one video was edited to make it look like a doctor said she would “sell” fetal tissue for a profit – when in fact she said the exact opposite, 10 separate times, and nearly all instances were edited out of the tape.”

Unfortunately for Planned Parent, the tapes are authentic and show no evidence of manipulation or editing. So, essentially, the above statement is a lie. An article over at reports that a Digital Forensics Analysis Report by the forensic analysis company Coalfire Systems states the following:

“Coalfire’s analysis of the recorded media files contained on the flash drive indicates that the video recordings are authentic and show no evidence of manipulation or editing. This conclusion is supported by the consistency of the video file date and time stamps, the video timecode, as well as the folder and file naming scheme. The uniformity between the footage from the cameras from the two Investigators also support the evidence that the video recordings are authentic.

With regard to the “Full Footage” YouTube videos released by the Organization, edits made to these videos were applied to eliminate non-pertinent footage, including “commuting,” “waiting,” “adjusting recording equipment,” “meals,” or “restroom breaks,” lacking pertinent conversation. Any discrepancies in the chronology of the time codes are consistent with the intentional removal of this non-pertinent footage as described in this report.

Furthermore, four of the five raw video recordings, which also contained audio captured from the video recording device, are accompanied by a raw audio recording captured from a separate audio-only recording device. The raw audio only recordings last for the duration of their associated raw videos. These raw audio recordings support the completeness and authenticity of the raw video recordings since they depict the same events within the same duration as captured from the two separate video recorders.”

So, here is a question I have for Planned Parenthood: why are you simply not defending your practices as opposed to attacking the authenticity of the videos?

U.S. Soldiers Told to Ignore Sexual Abuse of Boys by Afghan Allies

KABUL, Afghanistan — In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base.

“At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” the Marine’s father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. “My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it’s their culture.”

University Bans Mexican Restaurant from Giving Its Students Sombreros Because Sombreros Are Racist

Par for the Politically Correct Course!

“A Mexican restaurant was handing out free sombreros to college students at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England — apparently not realizing that colleges are nuts now and sombreros are one of the 9 million things that are now considered racist on campus.”

Nancy Pelosi tells CNN she doesn’t think Planned Parenthood videos are real

Here is the interview given by Jack Tapper of Nancy Pelosi.

TAPPER: On the subject of the Planned Parenthood and the attempts to defund Planned Parenthood, have you seen the videos? Is there not anything on those videos that bothers you at all?

PELOSI: I don’t stipulate that these videos are real. And the fact is — and fact is that the research that is being criticized there is research that has been supported. Now, I haven’t seen — I’ve seen some news reports of it, but I also know that it’s not real and you can create any reality that you want.

TAPPER: So OK. Even if you don’t accept the videos on their face —

PELOSI: I think they should be investigated as to how they obtained those and doctored those and then had them be accepted as something that was an indictment against Planned Parenthood because that’s not true.

TAPPER: Are you at all disappointed by the leadership of Planned Parenthood for letting these cameras in, by being fooled by officials at Planned Parenthood saying things that even Planned Parenthood had to apologize for, for letting these cameras into their labs? It seems like if you support the mission of Planned Parenthood, you might be upset with glibness or a lack of responsibility.

PELOSI: Well, I think that Planned Parenthood has excellent leadership. Cecile Richards, the president, is a spectacular leader in our country. I do think that Planned Parenthood is many people that consists of many state organizations and some of them maybe not as, how should I say it, aware of the assault that was going to be made on them and perhaps they spoke in a way that could be misinterpreted.

Watch Video 2 for yourself, and determine if you think it is “real”. What do you think of the statement from Dr. Mary Gatter in which she said the following:

“But, you know, the money is not important. But it has to be big enough that it makes it worthwhile for me. . .It’s been years since I’ve talked about compensation, so let me just figure out what others are getting and if this is in the ballpark, that’s fine. If it’s still low, we can bump it up. I want a Lamborghini”.

Today in USA Today, I read a poll shows By 2-1, funding for Planned Parenthood supported. What do you think about all of this?

I’m Back

I’m just a cop, but I can tell you this: it’s been a while! I’d like to say that I took a break. I’d like to say that I needed to take a step back from politics, important issues, and debate. I’d like to say I just didn’t give a rat’s ass about anything except my family and close friends. I’d like to say that I just wanted to enjoy my retirement. All of those were true, but only for a little while. I took a break from all of those things and did, in fact, resign myself to just enjoying my retirement. It lasted maybe three months. I just couldn’t stay away. So, I have been engaging in heated debates again on Facebook for several months now, but I decided it was time for me to come back to again. My blog. My home.

I think it’s obvious to all who know me, I love to debate. But in all earnest, more importantly, I love to share information, views, and opinions about things I consider important. Likewise, I enjoy learning new things from other people, and I enjoy having my positions challenged. The only time I don’t enjoy debate and the exchange of information, views and opinions is when it is done in a disrespectful manner. I have little tolerance for coarseness, discourtesy, or insolence. Arrogance and condescension contribute nothing to a debate in my view, and thus, have no place in one.

Sadly, the Internet is rife with these things. It is a place that sows impoliteness. It is a place where brusqueness combines with an exaggerated sense of invulnerability to create nothing short of boorish behavior. It not only allows, but seems to encourage people to forget all forms of civil mannerism, and devolve themselves into almost nonhuman creatures. I see it happen all too frequently, and I hate it. People are not forced to look into the eyes of the person they are engaged in conversation with, so oft times they simply say whatever comes to their mind, and have absolutely no concern in regard to the usual societal norms. In short, people who would never dare speak rudely to you to your face, have no issue whatsoever calling you an asshole (or much worse) while conversing with you over the Internet. An unfortunate inevitability of mass interaction without being face to face.

On the other hand, and on a brighter note I have also been privy to eloquent, articulate and very polite exchanges. I had recently been invited to two closed Facebook groups, and have become quite active in one of them. Therein I’ve found many people with whom I agree with, and many people with whom I disagree with, in some cases vehemently, and yet almost every instance of interaction has been entirely pleasant and civil. After all, it really is true that there are times when people need to simply agree that they cannot agree, and leave it at that. When both sides have stated their positions clearly, and neither was able to change the other’s opinion on the matter, what would be the point of further deliberation? Personally, I see nothing wrong with conversations ending in this manner, I deem it to be the logically conclusion when opposing sides cannot come to agreement. You just have to find a place where people on the Internet use logic when interacting. I was fortunate enough to have found such a place.

That brings me back to the point at hand: my blog. While Facebook is great for debate, when all is said and done, I sometimes feel as though I am wasting my time. I can spend hours writing and responding to comments, but in the end, I ask myself “what have I accomplished?”, and I find myself on many occasions not being able to come to an adequate conclusion. I do, at times resolve that writing is like many other crafts: it requires practice and continual use in order for its practitioner to have any hopes of mastering it. Therefore, the time I spend formulating well thought-out positions and responses does help me to hone my writing ability. But, is that enough for me? Is that I want to do? Inevitably, the answer is no for me. That was why I originally created this blog: so that I have something that is my very own. So, I here I am, typing on my computer once more, writing what I hope will become a coherent, well written thought, that will be of some interest to folks like you, who then choose to honor me by taking the time to read it.  That is the goal, I suppose, of any writer.

So, I am pleased to be back again, blogging away. I am pleased to be, once again, sharing my thoughts with you right here. As always, I encourage and hope that some of you will utilize my forums to communicate with me and your fellow readers. I also welcome any comments and suggestions you may have regarding my blog and forums. We have a lot to discuss, and I look forward to expressing my views, and hearing from you.
