Another way of putting it, this is just plain old dumb.
Without diving into the complexities of sex differences, I'd like to point out the tale of Harrison Bergeron, a lovely short story I like to point to whenever someone starts howling about "equality."
There's no such thing. There never has been, and there never will be. No matter someone howls, "equality" will never be more than a concept. And honestly, from where I stand, that's a good thing. True "equality" is not something anyone would ever want to strive for.
"Equal Opportunity" is the key word people should be using instead. However, I'm not entirely sure how applying equal opportunity will work in comparison to this particular issue.
BRAVO Rooster! It's like the notion of "safety". To quote one of my favorite conservatives, Bill Whittle:
"Safety is an illusion. It's a temporary bubble of psychological security provided by loving parents to protect children until they slowly become adult enough to face the reality of a dangerous world."
