Dorothy Bland: I was caught ‘walking while black.’ Police chief: No, officers were doing their jobs


An African American woman gets questioned by police, and immediately plays the race card.

Sadly, this type of reaction from people is far to common. I used to hear it all the time: “You are stopping me because I am <Fill In The Blank>“, to which I’d usually respond, “No, I’m stopping you because you did <Fill In The Blank>.

The woman in question is Dorothy Bland, dean of the Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism and the director for the Frank W. Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism at the University of North Texas. She called it “racial profiling”, and went on to say “I refuse to let this incident ruin my life.”

Folks, police have not only a dangerous job, but a very difficult and arduous one. This video is a perfect demonstration of how people cry abuse when the officers are guilty of nothing more than simply doing their jobs. But hey, I’m just a cop.
